Three men came to the house of the Messenger, peace be upon him, to find out how He worshipped Allah. After they had been told they said: “He is the Messenger and Allah has forgiven him so we must worship more than he does.” The first said: “I will pray all night without sleeping.” The second said: “I will fast every day continuously.” The third said: “I will never touch any woman.” When the Prophet, peace be upon him heard about this he gathered the companions and said: “I am the most righteous and fearful of Allah among you but I pray in the night and sleep, I fast and break my fast, and I marry women. Anyone who does not follow my example is not one of my nation.
