“Say: He is God, one”

Iqbal says he once saw Abu Bakr (ra) in a dream. He asks the Companion of Prophet about the remedy for the troubles facing the Muslim community. In reply, Abu Bakr asks him to ponder on Sura Ikhlas and learn lessons from it to solve the crisis. The unity of God is the theme of this chapter of Holy Quran. Iqbal suggests the community to adorn with the color of God. One should become the vicegerent of God on earth and become God-conscious at all times.

“God, the Self –Subsistent”

If one’s heart is attuned to the verse of “He is self-subsistent”, then the self gets free from all limits. A believer should not become a slave to his needs. When one begs then his self is weakened and humiliated.
